PitPaks are harder than foam pads, made of Organic Cotton & Spandex cover. The contents are filled with 100% natural cherry pits (cleaned & sterilised). Therefore, it is advisable that they are used under the guidance of a health care professional. They have been specially developed for the treatment of persistent, long-standing fibrosis or lipodermatosclerosis, and are available in a variety of shapes making them anatomically suitable for various parts of the body. The unique channelling within the PitPaks help to channel lymphatic fluid towards the lymphatic nodes.
PitPak Use – Please note that this can be an aggressive form of therapy for your fibrosis and should be carefully monitored by your clinician or your lymphoedema therapist. The medical condition and tolerance of each patient is different. We advice you begin with an application of 15 minutes (maximum) under light compression to assess the situation before making any increases.
The patient’s tolerance should be taken into consideration when determining the amount of desired compression, and they are most effective under compression bandage, wrap compression systems or compression garments.
Garment Care
PitPak products are machine washable but must not be tumble-dried. Wash with cold water and press the moisture out by rolling in a towel, then leave to air dry. PitPaks are made of cotton and spandex and filled with 100% natural material.
